Movie of the Week

With summer fast approaching and the itch to be outside increases, it only seems appropriate to have this film as our "Movie of the Week!" The film is, "Camp Nowhere" a mid 90's film starring Christopher Lloyd.
What would you do if you had the entire summer to your self? That's a question Morris (Mud) seeks to answer after his parents reveal their plan to send him to a computer camp. Mud and his friends make plans of their own when they meet former drama teacher, Dennis VanWelker (Lloyd). Mud and the others pay off VanWelker to pose as various camp directors convincing the kid's parents to send them to these camps. What the parents don't know is that the kids have rented a camp with the money and plan to hang out all summer.
Things get hairy when the parents express a desire for a, "Parents Day" and bill collectors come after VanWelker for not paying the loan on his ugly car. The trails lead them to that same place where the kids and VanWelker have been hiding out all summer. In the end, everyone learns an important lesson about telling the truth and value of just being a kid.
The film is rated PG.

Soul Surfer Movie Trailer Official (HD)

Cath the Wave with Soul Surfer

If you've been following my Facebook page for any length of time, you will have probably seen a ton of posts and info relating to the new film "Soul Surfer" a film that recounts the true and inspirational story of Bethany Hamilton. At only 13, Hamilton made the headlines of nearly every news outlet in the country after losing her arm in a violent shark attack on the waters of her hometown of Hawaii. Not letting the traumatic experience keep her off her board, Hamilton returned to the waves and continues to surf professionally. She credits her brave comeback to her strong faith in God and the support of her family and Youth Group. Hamilton's book about her ordeal has sold millions and is now a major motion picture starring actress Annasophia Robb as Bethany Hamilton. Robb, also a person of faith, joins the likes of country super star Carrie Underwood, Dennis Quaid, and Helen Hunt. Many references to God, the Bible, and Christianity can be found in the film including a scene with Underwood singing the contemporary praise song, "Blessesd Be Your Name."

Soul Surfer, is a great family film with a wonderful message earning a gnarly 5 stars. ***** Now in its second week in theaters, Soul Surfer will have to paddle its way among other hit films such as 20th Century Fox's newest animated feature "Rio" and Dimension Film's fourth installment to the Scream franchise, "Scream 4."

More on Scream 4 next time.

That's all for now. Remember: Your life is God's movie, He is our director, and the Bible is our script. Action
